Gentle Yoga offers a slower-paced, supportive, and relaxing yoga practice that will challenge you in safe ways. This class will include breathing techniques, gentle stretching, conscious movement, and relaxation. Gentle Yoga classes are appropriate for those with movement limitations, body and joint stiffness, physical disabilities, and chronic illness, pain and fatigue. Please check in with the teacher before class to discuss your particular needs.
SUN SALUTATIONS & MEDITATION
This Ashtanga-inspired class includes an active warm-up, 20-30 minutes of sun salutations, a gentle cool down including stretching, and ends with 10 minutes of seated meditation. This practice is designed to be a moving meditation that will help students develop self-awareness and self-acceptance.
Each Basics class will begin with breathing exercises (pranayama), a warm-up and a series of postures (asana) aimed to strengthen and stretch the body. We will focus on alignment and breathing cues, and explore how the physical and mental work of yoga connect. The transitions between poses will be slow and gentle.
In Yin Yoga we will dive into sensation with loving awareness and, hopefully, excitement. We will focus on breath while we sustain postures with the intention of exploring subtle movements and moments. Students will pace themselves to move exactly as their bodies need, while also exploring the edge where ease and effort meet.
Restorative Yoga uses blankets, pillows and props to support your physical body, allowing for ultimate release, relaxation, and restoration. The teacher will offer guided meditations, soothing music, and essential oils to sweeten the experience. Students may bring warm layers, socks, and an eye pillow or eye mask.

Beginner: For those who are new to yoga or with a seasoned practice. Modifications will be available.
Intermediate: For experienced students with a strong practice.
